Idioms and Proverbs: The Wish is the Father of the Deed
Idioms and Proverbs: Let Sleeping Dogs Lie
Idioms and Proverbs: The blind leading the blind
Idioms and Proverbs: When it rains it pours
This ongoing series was begun at a time when I was studio-less and needed a small,
cheap desk size project. I had this pile of old postage stamps and decided to pull
them out and attempt some tiny collages. Later I bought a letterpress and added the
faint areas of type. People are surprised when I tell them the titles came last.
Fifteen of the pieces were complete and I needed titles and some way to decide on
the text I was to print. I grabbed "The Dictionary of Cultural Literacy" off my
book shelf. For each one I chose an idiom as the text and a proverb as a title.
Available for $200 each (except It Takes Two to Tango, Scouts Honor, Let Sleeping Dogs Lie, When It Rains It Pours)
