"Four Fold is inspired by a sentence in an origami primer, which states 'Success depends highly upon the care in which the folds are made.' As we mulled over this piece of advice, we came to realize how many situations this referred to: the folding of ingredients into batter for cooking, the folding of wings for birds and bats, the folding of proteins that determine our genetic code, the folding of flags; really, there seems to be an endless number of situations that require careful folding.

Four Fold is a series of 20 prints created collaboratively using different combinations of letterpress, lithography, collage, watercolor and colored pencil. We collected and created a great number of images related to folding, and combined them with text in ways to underscore the omnipresence and importance of folding."
